Critical Thinking and Analysis in Polish
Nominalization (rzeczownikowanie) gives texts an academic tone by converting verbs to nouns:
- *analizować* → *analiza* — to analyze → analysis
- *interpretować* → *interpretacja* — to interpret → interpretation
- *oceniać* → *ocena* — to evaluate → evaluation
Gerund constructions (*bezokoliczniki i imiesłowy*):
- *Analizując tekst, można zauważyć...* — Analyzing the text, one can notice...
- *Oceniając wyniki, należy wziąć pod uwagę...* — When evaluating the results, one must take into account...
Complex relative clauses with *który/która/które*:
- *Koncepcja, którą autor propaguje, jest kontrowersyjna.* — The concept that the author promotes is controversial.
- *Badania, na których opiera się teza, są nieaktualne.* — The research on which the thesis rests is outdated.
