# Expressing opinions in Korean
In Korean, the most natural way to express an opinion is -(으)ㄴ/는 것 같다, which literally means "it seems like" but functions as "I think."
- 좋은 것 같아요. → *I think it's good.*
- 너무 비싼 것 같아요. → *I think it's too expensive.*
To be more direct, use 제 생각에는 (in my opinion) at the start of a sentence:
- 제 생각에는 이 방법이 더 나은 것 같아요. → *In my opinion, I think this method is better.*
You can also use -(이)라고 생각하다 (to think that):
- 이것이 맞다고 생각해요. → *I think this is correct.*
The particle -에 대해 (about/regarding) lets you introduce the topic of your opinion:
- 이 문제에 대해 어떻게 생각하세요? → *What do you think about this issue?*
Practice making opinions about everyday topics to build fluency. Use 왜냐하면 (because) to give reasons and strengthen your arguments.

자주 하는 실수
나는 생각해요 이것이 좋다이것이 좋은 것 같아요 / 이것이 좋다고 생각해요Don't use 나는 생각해요 + bare clause. Use 것 같다 or -다고 생각하다 structure.
제 생각은 이것이 맞아요제 생각에는 이것이 맞는 것 같아요Use 제 생각에는 (in my opinion), not 제 생각은 (my opinion is) with a direct statement.
나는 동의예요저는 동의해요동의 is a noun — it needs the verb 하다. Use 동의하다, not 동의이다.
왜냐하면 비싸왜냐하면 비싸기 때문이에요왜냐하면 must pair with -기 때문이에요 or -기 때문입니다 at the end.
저의 입장은 반대입니다저는 반대 입장이에요 / 저는 동의하지 않아요More natural to say 반대 입장이다 or simply 동의하지 않다 rather than a stiff nominative structure.
