- Feminine: आँख (āṅkh — eye), नाक (nāk — nose), पीठ (pīṭh — back), उँगली (uṅglī — finger)
Saying "my" with body parts:
The possessive changes with gender:
- मेरा (merā) + masculine noun: मेरा सिर (merā sir) — my head
- मेरी (merī) + feminine noun: मेरी आँख (merī āṅkh) — my eye
Saying something hurts:
Use दर्द होना (dard honā) — "to have pain":
💬 "मेरा सिर दर्द कर रहा है।" (merā sir dard kar rahā hai.) → "My head is hurting."
💬 "मेरे पैर में दर्द है।" (mere pair meṅ dard hai.) → "My foot hurts."
Plural body parts:
Some body parts are used in pairs:
- आँख → आँखें (āṅkheṅ — eyes)
- कान → कान (kān — ears, same form)
- हाथ → हाथ (hāth — hands, same form)
