Buying a Ticket in Hindi
Asking for a ticket
The standard pattern is:
एक टिकट [destination] के लिए, please। (ek ticket [destination] ke liye) — One ticket to [destination], please.
- एक टिकट दिल्ली के लिए। — One ticket to Delhi, please.
- दो टिकट मुंबई के लिए। — Two tickets to Mumbai, please.
One-way or return?
- एक तरफ़ का टिकट (ek taraf ka ticket) — One-way ticket
- वापसी का टिकट (vaapsi ka ticket) — Return ticket
Asking the price
- टिकट कितने का है? (ticket kitne ka hai?) — How much is the ticket?
- कितने पैसे लगेंगे? (kitne paise lagenge?) — How much will it cost?
At the counter
- मुझे [destination] जाना है। (mujhe [destination] jaana hai.) — I need to go to [destination].
- अगली ट्रेन कब है? (agli train kab hai?) — When is the next train?
- कौन सा प्लेटफ़ॉर्म? (kaun sa platform?) — Which platform?
Paying
- यह लीजिए। (yah lijiye.) — Here you are. (handing money)
- बाकी पैसे दीजिए। (baaki paise dijiye.) — Please give me the change.

자주 하는 실수
एक टिकट दिल्ली कोएक टिकट दिल्ली के लिएFor destination use ke liye (के लिए), not ko (को). Ko is used for animate objects, not travel destinations.
टिकट कितनी का है?टिकट कितने का है?टिकट is masculine, so use kitne ka, not kitni ka.
मुझे वापस टिकट चाहिएमुझे वापसी का टिकट चाहिएThe word for return ticket is vaapsi ka ticket. Vaapas means back (direction), vaapsi is the noun form for return.
