Writing a Postcard: Expressing Feelings and Wishes
让 (ràng) to describe what something makes you feel:
- 这里的风景让我感动。(zhèlǐ de fēngjǐng ràng wǒ gǎndòng) — The scenery here moves me.
- 旅行让我越来越爱中文。(lǚxíng ràng wǒ yuè lái yuè ài Zhōngwén) — Travel makes me love Chinese more and more.
虽然…但是… (suīrán…dànshì) — although… but:
- 虽然我很想回家，但是我舍不得离开。(suīrán wǒ hěn xiǎng huí jiā, dànshì wǒ shě bu de líkāi) — Although I want to go home, I can't bear to leave.
Postcard-style closing phrases:
- 祝你一切顺利！(zhù nǐ yīqiè shùnlì) — Wishing you all the best!
- 代我向大家问好。(dài wǒ xiàng dàjiā wènhǎo) — Please give my regards to everyone.
- 期待早日见面！(qīdài zǎorì jiànmiàn) — Looking forward to seeing you soon!

- 我在这里玩得很开心I'm having a great time here
- 这里的特产太好吃了The local specialties here are delicious
- 我非常想念大家I really miss everyone
- 祝你身体健康！Wishing you good health!
- 我买了一些当地特产给你I bought some local specialties for you
자주 하는 실수
我思念你们非常地。我非常想念你们。非常 (very much) comes before the verb — 非常想念 is correct. 思念 is more literary; 想念 is the natural spoken form.
这里的景色让我感动了很深。这里的景色让我深深地感动了。The degree adverb 深深地 modifies the verb 感动 and should come before it — 深深地感动了.
虽然我想回家，所以我舍不得离开。虽然我想回家，但是我舍不得离开。虽然…but… requires 但是 (or 可是/却), not 所以. 所以 means therefore — it is used for cause-and-effect.
我给你寄了一张明信片去了。我给你寄了一张明信片。The direction of mailing is already implied by 给你 — adding 去了 at the end is redundant.
祝你健康身体！祝你身体健康！身体健康 is a fixed phrase — 身体 (body) must come before 健康 (healthy) in this set expression.
