Talking About Your Tastes
Saying what you like
- 我喜欢吃甜的。— I like eating sweet things.
- 我最喜欢饺子。— My favorite is dumplings.
- 我不喜欢苦的东西。— I don't like bitter things.
Describing flavors
Chinese has five key flavor words:
- 甜 (tián) — sweet
- 酸 (suān) — sour
- 苦 (kǔ) — bitter
- 辣 (là) — spicy
- 咸 (xián) — salty
Use 太 (too) or 有点 (a little) to add degree:
- 太甜了！— Too sweet!
- 有点酸。— A little sour.
Food preferences
- 我是素食的。— I am vegetarian.
- 我不吃肉。— I don't eat meat.
- 我对海鲜过敏。— I am allergic to seafood.
Complimenting food
- 好吃！— Delicious!
- 味道很好！— Great taste!
- 香极了！— It smells amazing!
표현
- 我最喜欢吃饺子。Say dumplings are your favorite food
- 我不喜欢苦的。Say you do not like bitter things
- 太甜了！Exclaim that something is too sweet
- 有点酸。Say something is a little sour
- 我是素食的。Say you are vegetarian
- 味道很好！Compliment the taste of the food
자주 하는 실수
我喜欢饺子吃我喜欢吃饺子The verb 吃 comes before its object; 喜欢 + verb + object
我是素食我是素食的Need 的 after the noun to form an adjective-noun construction
很太辣了太辣了太 replaces 很 for degree; do not combine them
我不喜欢苦我不喜欢苦的Add 的 to turn the adjective 苦 into a noun phrase meaning bitter things
味道是好味道很好Use 很 not 是 when combining a noun with an adjective
