比較級（2つのものを比べる）

2つのものを比べるには 比較級 + than を使うよ：

短い形容詞：+ -er + than

  • funny → funnier than: "This film is funnier than the last one."
  • scary → scarier than: "Horror films are scarier than comedies."

長い形容詞：more + 形容詞 + than

  • exciting → more exciting than: "Action films are more exciting than dramas."
  • boring → more boring than: "The sequel was more boring than the original."

💬 例: "I think comedies are better than horror films." → 「コメディーの方がホラーより好きだと思う。」

不規則な形

  • good → better（いい → もっといい）
  • bad → worse（悪い → もっと悪い）

便利な比較表現

  • It was better than I expected → 思ったよりよかった
  • This one is much more interesting → こっちの方がずっと面白い
  • It''s not as scary as the first one → 1作目ほど怖くない

よくある間違い

  • This film is more funny
    This film is funnier

    短い形容詞はmore不要。-erをつける

  • It was more good than the last one
    It was better than the last one

    good → better（不規則。more goodではない）

  • The film is boringer
    The film is more boring

    -ingで終わる形容詞はmore + boring

  • It's scary as the first one
    It's as scary as the first one

    同じくらいと言うにはas + 形容詞 + as

  • The film was more longer than I expected
    The film was longer than I expected

    「longer」はすでに比較級なので「more」は不要です

  • It's the worse film I've ever seen
    It's the worst film I've ever seen

    「bad」の最上級は「worst」です（「worse」ではありません）
