I modali di obbligo e permesso
Nei servizi pubblici, è essenziale capire cosa è obbligatorio, vietato o permesso.
Obbligo
- *must / have to*: obbligo forte → *You must submit the form before the deadline.*
- *need to*: necessità pratica → *You need to bring two forms of ID.*
Assenza di obbligo
- *don't have to / don't need to*: non obbligatorio → *You don't have to pay — it's free.*
Divieto
- *must not / mustn't*: strettamente vietato → *You mustn't park here — it's a fine zone.*
- *can't*: non autorizzato → *You can't apply online for this permit.*
Permesso
- *can / may*: permesso → *You can apply by post or online.*
- *be allowed to*: avere il diritto di → *You are allowed to bring a helper.*
Esempi:
