Social Media in Korean
Korean social media uses many borrowed English words plus the key grammar -는 중이다 (in the middle of doing something).
-는 중이다 — currently doing:
- 사진 올리는 중이에요 → I am in the middle of uploading a photo
- 영상 보는 중이에요 → I am watching a video
- 먹는 중이에요 → I am eating right now
Common social media actions:
- 좋아요를 눌러요 → Press like / hit like
- 댓글을 달아요 → Leave a comment
- 사진을 올려요 → Post a photo
- 영상을 공유해요 → Share a video
- 구독하고 팔로우해요 → Subscribe and follow
Talking about social media:
- SNS 자주 해요? → Do you use social media often?
- 인스타 계정 있어요? → Do you have an Instagram account?

댓글 남겨요댓글을 달아요달다 is the natural verb for leaving/attaching a comment on social media, not 남기다
