Ordering at a Restaurant: Prendo... / Per me... / Com'è...?

In Italy, at a restaurant, specific phrases are used to order and ask about dishes:

To order:

Prendo... → I'll have... (very common and natural)
Per me... → For me... (equivalent)
Vorrei... → I would like... (more formal)

To ask about a dish:

Com'è...? → What is ... like? (taste, texture)
È piccante? → Is it spicy?
È fatto con...? → Is it made with...?
Cosa c'è nel/nella...? → What's in the...?

Structure of an Italian restaurant meal:

Antipasto → Primo → Secondo (+ Contorno) → Dolce → Caffè

💬 Esempio: "Prendo le tagliatelle al ragù come primo." → "I'll have the tagliatelle with ragù as my first course."
💬 Esempio: "Per me il tiramisù come dolce, grazie." → "For me the tiramisu as dessert, thanks."
