Writing to Persuade in Hindi

Persuasive writing in Hindi combines logical argumentation with emotional appeal. At C1 level, you should master the rhetorical tools that make Hindi persuasion powerful: appeals to reason, emotion, and authority.

Building logical arguments:

सबसे पहले...दूसरा...अंत में (sabse pahle...dūsrā...ant meṅ — First...second...finally) structures sequential reasoning
इसलिए यह स्पष्ट है कि... (isliye yah spaṣṭ hai ki... — Therefore it is clear that...) draws conclusions
आँकड़े दर्शाते हैं कि... (āṅkṛe darshāte haiṅ ki... — Data shows that...) appeals to evidence

Emotional persuasion (भावनात्मक अपील):

Use vivid imagery: ज़रा सोचिए कि... (zarā sochiye ki... — Just imagine that...)
Rhetorical questions: क्या हम चुप बैठ सकते हैं? (kyā ham chup baiṭh sakte haiṅ? — Can we sit silently?)
Inclusive language: हम सभी जानते हैं (ham sabhī jānte haiṅ — We all know)

ज़रा सोचिए कि अगर हमारे बच्चों को स्वच्छ हवा न मिले — क्या हम चुप बैठ सकते हैं?
(Just imagine if our children don't get clean air — can we sit silently?)

Handling counterarguments:

कुछ लोग कह सकते हैं कि... (kuch log kah sakte haiṅ ki... — Some may say that...) acknowledges the opposing view
लेकिन यह तर्क कमज़ोर है क्योंकि... (lekin yah tark kamzor hai kyoṅki... — But this argument is weak because...) provides the rebuttal
इसके विपरीत (iske viparīt — On the contrary) pivots to your stronger point
