Hindi has a rich and specific family vocabulary — different words exist depending on whether a relative is from the mother's or father's side!

- माँ (māṅ) — mother

- बहन (bahan) — sister
- दादा (dādā) — paternal grandfather

Saying "I have" — मेरे पास / मेरा-मेरी:
💬 "मेरे दो भाई हैं।" (mere do bhāī haiṅ.) → "I have two brothers."

Possessives with family:
