Writing a structured essay (Erörterung) in German follows a clear three-part structure.
1. Einleitung (Introduction):

- Provide context: In der heutigen Gesellschaft... (In today's society...)
2. Hauptteil (Body):
- Pro arguments: Einerseits... / Zunächst einmal... / Ein weiteres Argument ist...
- Contra arguments: Andererseits... / Dagegen spricht... / Kritiker argumentieren...
- Transitions: Darüber hinaus... / Außerdem... / Hinzu kommt, dass...
3. Fazit (Conclusion):

The essay structure requires impersonal constructions and passive voice for academic objectivity.
