This lesson teaches negotiation language using the conditional and hypothesis structures.
Si + imparfait, conditionnel expresses hypothetical conditions: Si vous augmentiez mon salaire, je resterais (If you raised my salary, I would stay). This is the "si clause" for present/future hypotheticals.
Making proposals: Je vous propose de… (I propose to…), Et si on… (What if we…), Que diriez-vous de… ? (What would you say to…?).
Accepting: C'est d'accord (Agreed), Ça me convient (That suits me), J'accepte votre proposition (I accept your proposal).
Refusing politely: Je suis désolé, mais ce n'est pas possible (I'm sorry, but that's not possible), Je comprends, mais je préférerais… (I understand, but I would prefer…).
Finding a middle ground: On pourrait trouver un compromis (We could find a compromise), À condition que… (On the condition that…), Je suis prêt(e) à faire une concession si… (I'm ready to make a concession if…).
