उन्नत कथन: past perfect और "used to"

B2 स्तर पर किसी उपन्यास की चर्चा करते समय, घटनाओं का वर्णन करने और क्रियाओं को एक-दूसरे के सापेक्ष रखने के लिए उन्नत कथात्मक कालों का प्रयोग किया जाता है।

#### Past perfect (पूर्ण भूतकाल)

Past perfect किसी दूसरी भूतकालीन घटना से पहले पूरी हुई क्रिया बताता है:

• By the time the detective arrived, the killer had already escaped.
• She realised she had read this passage before, years ago.
• The protagonist hadn't expected such a brutal ending.

#### "Used to" (पहले की आदत)

"Used to" उन पिछली आदतों या स्थितियों का वर्णन करता है जो अब सत्य नहीं हैं:

• The author used to write only at night, in complete silence.
• The character used to trust everyone — until the betrayal.
• They used to meet at the library every Sunday.

ध्यान दें: "used to" केवल भूतकाल के लिए है। वर्तमान में "usually" या "tend to" का प्रयोग करें।

कथावाचक के दृष्टिकोण का विश्लेषण

• First-person narrator — I: भीतरी दृष्टि, पर सीमित जानकारी
• Third-person narrator — he/she/they: अधिक दूरी वाला दृष्टिकोण
• Unreliable narrator: ऐसा कथावाचक जिस पर पूरी तरह भरोसा नहीं किया जा सकता (Gone Girl, The Remains of the Day)
