Dominar el hedging: expresar la incertidumbre con precisión
El hedging es el arte de atenuar las afirmaciones para expresar duda, prudencia o apertura mental.
Verbos modales de atenuación
- might / may → *This might explain the discrepancy.*
- could → *It could be argued that...*
- would seem to → *The data would seem to suggest...*
Expresiones de hedging
- It remains to be seen whether... → el resultado es incierto
- The evidence is inconclusive. → sin conclusión definitiva
- This is, at best, a tentative conclusion. → conclusión provisional
Consejo: El hedging no es debilidad — es inteligencia y rigor intelectual.
