  • Let''s get started. → Empecemos.
  • The purpose of today''s meeting is to…
  • Has everyone had a chance to look at the agenda?

Ejemplo: "Right, let''s get started. The purpose of today''s meeting is to review the Q3 results."

Pasar de un punto a otro

  • Let''s move on to the next item. → Pasemos al siguiente punto.
  • Shall we move on? → ¿Seguimos adelante?
  • I think we''ve covered that point. → Creo que ya cubrimos ese punto.

Dar la palabra y reconducir

  • Would anyone like to add anything? → ¿Alguien quiere añadir algo?
  • Could we stick to the topic, please? → ¿Podemos centrarnos en el tema, por favor?
  • Let''s hear from [name]. → Escuchemos a [nombre].

Cerrar la reunión

  • To wrap up… → Para concluir…
  • Let me summarise the action points. → Permítanme resumir los puntos de acción.
  • The next meeting will be on…

Expresiones

  • Let's get startedAbrir la reunión de forma directa
  • Shall we move on?Proponer pasar al siguiente punto
  • Could we stick to the topic?Reconducir educadamente la discusión
  • To wrap up...Señalar la conclusión de la reunión
  • Any other business?Comprobar si quedan temas pendientes
  • I'd like to flag somethingSeñalar un punto importante
  • Shall we move on to the next item?
  • Let us table this for nowPara posponer un tema durante la reunión

Errores frecuentes

  • Let's begin the meeting of today
    Let's begin today's meeting

En inglés se usa el genitivo sajón (today's meeting), no "the meeting of today", que es una traducción literal del español.

  • I resume the action points
Let me summarise the action points

"Resume" significa retomar (después de una pausa). Para hacer un resumen, se dice "summarise" (UK) o "summarize" (US).

  • Does anyone wants to add something?
Does anyone want to add anything?

  • We must to finish before 3 PM
We must finish before 3 PM

"Must" es un verbo modal: nunca va seguido de "to". Se dice "must finish", no "must to finish".

  • Can we discuss about this issue?
    Can we discuss this issue?

Discuss es un verbo transitivo directo — no necesita about después.

  • I suggest to postpone the meeting.
    I suggest postponing the meeting.
