Persuasion Techniques in Polish
Classical rhetoric identified three modes of persuasion, all applicable in Polish public speaking.
Three pillars of persuasion (za Arystotelesem — after Aristotle):
- Logos (logical reasoning): evidence, statistics, logical arguments
- Badania pokazują, że... / Dane wskazują na...
- Ethos (credibility): establishing trust and authority
- Jako ekspert w tej dziedzinie... / Z mojego doświadczenia wynika...
- Pathos (emotional appeal): connecting with feelings
- Wyobraźcie sobie, że... / Każdy z nas zna sytuację, gdy...
Concessive technique (technika ustępstwa): Acknowledging the opposing view before refuting it builds credibility:
- Owszem, można argumentować, że... Jednak w rzeczywistości...
(Indeed, one could argue that... However, in reality...)
The rule of three (zasada trzech): Musimy działać szybko, mądrze i stanowczo. Three-part structures are natural and memorable in Polish.

Wszyscy normalni ludzie zgadzają się, że...Badania wskazują, że zdecydowana większość respondentów...Wszyscy normalni ludzie (all normal people) is manipulative — it implies opponents are abnormal; evidence-based claims are more persuasive and ethical
Jeśli nie zmienimy prawa, to koniec świata.Jeśli nie zmienimy prawa, konsekwencje mogą być poważne i długotrwałe.Koniec świata (end of the world) is hyperbole that undermines credibility; a specific, measured consequence is more persuasive
