Critical Thinking and Analysis in Polish
Nominalization (rzeczownikowanie) gives texts an academic tone by converting verbs to nouns:
- analizować → analiza — to analyze → analysis
- interpretować → interpretacja — to interpret → interpretation
- oceniać → ocena — to evaluate → evaluation
Gerund constructions (bezokoliczniki i imiesłowy):
- Analizując tekst, można zauważyć... — Analyzing the text, one can notice...
- Oceniając wyniki, należy wziąć pod uwagę... — When evaluating the results, one must take into account...
Complex relative clauses with który/która/które:
- Koncepcja, którą autor propaguje, jest kontrowersyjna. — The concept that the author promotes is controversial.
- Badania, na których opiera się teza, są nieaktualne. — The research on which the thesis rests is outdated.
