Discussing art requires impersonal structures that distance the speaker from personal opinion, presenting views as widely held or established.
Established View: とされている
- とされている — "is considered to be": 草間彌生は日本を代表する芸術家とされている。 (Yayoi Kusama is considered a representative Japanese artist.)
Regarded As: と見なされている
- と見なされている — "is regarded as": この作品は前衛的な傑作と見なされている。 (This work is regarded as an avant-garde masterpiece.)
Nature/Essence: というものだ
- というものだ — "is the very nature of": 芸術というものは自由な表現であるべきだ。 (Art by its very nature should be free expression.)
Nothing But: に他ならない
- に他ならない — "is nothing other than": この展覧会の成功は芸術家の努力に他ならない。 (The success of this exhibition is nothing other than the artist's effort.)

常见错误
代表する芸術家にされている。代表する芸術家とされている。The pattern is とされている (considered as), not にされている (made into).
傑作を見なされている。傑作と見なされている。見なす takes と (regarded as), not を.
芸術というのものだ。芸術というものだ。The pattern is というものだ directly, no の in between.
努力以外に他ならない。努力に他ならない。に他ならない already means nothing other than; adding 以外 is redundant and incorrect.
抽象的の作品だ。抽象的な作品だ。抽象的 is a na-adjective and requires な before nouns, not の.
