にします (ni shimasu) — I'll Have / I Choose
When ordering at a restaurant, にします expresses your choice:
💬 Example: "てんぷらに します" → "I'll have the tempura"
The structure is: [choice] に します
- ていしょくに します → I'll have the set meal
- デザートに します → I'll go with the dessert
This is different from ください (please give me) — にします emphasizes your decision.
がありますか (ga arimasu ka) — Do You Have?
Use がありますか to ask if something is available:
💬 Example: "えいごの メニューが ありますか？" → "Do you have an English menu?"
- デザートが ありますか？ → Do you have dessert?
- おすすめが ありますか？ → Do you have a recommendation?

てんぷらを しますてんぷらに しますUse に (not を) with します when expressing a choice
メニュー ありますかメニューが ありますかDon't forget the particle が before ありますか
デザートを しますデザートに しますにします means I'll choose — を します means I'll do
てんぷら ください しますてんぷらに しますDon't mix ください and します — choose one pattern
おすすめは なにですかおすすめは なんですかUse なん (not なに) before です — it sounds more natural
