ください is the polite way to request something. Place the item before it:

You can also use it with numbers and counters:

おねがいします (onegaishimasu) — Please
おねがいします is an even more polite alternative. It works the same way:
💬 Example: "おかいけい、おねがいします" → "The bill, please"
When to use which?
- ください → Standard polite request (most common at cafes)
- おねがいします → Extra polite, often used for services
Useful cafe phrase: すみません
Say すみません (sumimasen) to get the waiter's attention. It means "excuse me" and is essential at Japanese restaurants and cafes.
