  Mixing the informal pronoun (tu) with the formal conjugation (può). Choose one: tu puoi (informal) or Lei può (formal).

  After credere che, the subjunctive (congiuntivo) is required in formal register, not the indicative.

• ✗Dimmi, signor direttore.
  ✓Mi dica, signor direttore.

  Dimmi is the informal imperative (tu). With a formal title, you must use mi dica (Lei form).

  In formal register, the impersonal si construction is preferred over the direct noi form.
