用英语评论电影：非限制性定语从句

非限制性定语从句

在 B2 阶段，你要区分两类英语定语从句：

  • 限制性（不用逗号）：准确限定名词——The film that won the Palme d'Or was exceptional.
  • 非限制性（用逗号）：补充额外信息——The film, which won the Palme d'Or, was exceptional.

核心规则：非限制性定语从句一定要用逗号隔开；英语中，事物用 which，人物用 who，绝不用 that。

#### 电影语境中的例句

  • The director, who trained in Paris, uses light in a remarkable way.
  • The final scene, which lasts barely three minutes, leaves a lasting impression.
  • The soundtrack, which was composed by Hans Zimmer, perfectly supports the narrative.
  • The protagonist, whose backstory is never fully revealed, remains deeply mysterious.

使用 whose、where 和 when 的关系词

  • Whose（英语中表示“……的”）：The actor, whose performance won three awards, was astonishing.
  • Where（英语中表示地点“哪里”）：The town, where the film was shot, has become a tourist destination.
  • When（英语中表示时间“何时”）：The 1970s, when cinema reached new artistic heights, are often considered a golden age.

影评词汇

用英语写一篇出色的影评时，可以说：

  • The plot is well-constructed. —— 情节结构严谨。
  • The directing is masterful. —— 导演手法高超。
  • The symbolism is subtle yet powerful. —— 象征手法含蓄而有力。
  • The cinematography evokes a sense of unease. —— 电影摄影营造出不安感。

表达

  • which, who — with a comma非限制性定语从句（人／物）
  • The director, who...补充导演的信息
  • The plot, which...补充情节的信息
  • whose style is recognisable含 whose 的非限制性定语从句
  • The film falls short of its ambitions批评一部令人失望的电影
  • emotionally resonant形容一部触动人心的电影
  • The film lives up to expectations表示电影不负期待
  • It left me on the edge of my seat表示电影扣人心弦、紧张刺激

常见错误

  • The actor that won the award was brilliant.
    The actor, who won the award, was brilliant.

    原句语法正确：它是限制性定语从句，that 可指人；若补充获奖信息，才用带逗号的 who。

  • The film which I saw last night was boring.
    The film that I saw last night was boring.

    限制性定语从句用来指明是哪部电影；无逗号的 that 正确。有逗号会变成非限制性从句。

  • The director, that directed Parasite, is Korean.
    The director, who directed Parasite, is Korean.

    非限制性定语从句中不能用 that；指人时用英语 who。

  • The film was very bored.
    The film was very boring.

    bored 描述感到无聊的人；boring 描述令人无聊的事物。

  • The actors played very good.
    The actors performed very well.

    good 是形容词，不是副词；在电影语境中，performed 比 played 更准确。

  • The film was very good acted.
    The film was very well acted.

    修饰过去分词要用副词 well，不能用形容词 good。
