用英语表达细微差别
对中文学习者来说，英语 B2 不只是说 “I think” 或 “I don't agree”。要用更精确的连接词表达保留、对比和程度。
对比连接词
- Although / Even though：在主句前引出让步。Although the results were promising, further research is needed.
- Despite / In spite of：后接名词或动名词。Despite being tired, she delivered an excellent presentation.
- Whereas：直接对照两件事。Whereas some studies support this view, others contradict it.
- Nevertheless / Nonetheless：在事实之后补充转折。The data is incomplete; nevertheless, some conclusions can be drawn.
缓和语气的副词
- Rather 表示偏好或中等程度。
- Somewhat 使断言更委婉。
- Arguably 表示一个有道理但并非人人认同的观点。
限定和澄清
避免绝对化时，可以说：
- To some extent... → 在某种程度上。
- It would be fair to say that... → 可以合理地说……
- This is not to say that... → 这并不意味着……
表达
- To some extent部分承认一个观点
- It would be fair to say that提出审慎且有依据的说法
- This is not to say that避免过早下结论
- Whereas对比两种现实
- Nevertheless在事实后补充转折
- Arguably提出但不强加某一立场
- Having said that在积极评价后提出保留
- It depends on how you look at it弱化过于绝对的观点
常见错误
Despite he was tired, he continued.Despite being tired, he continued.Despite 后接名词或动名词，不能接完整从句。
Although of the rain, we went out.Despite the rain, we went out.Although 引导完整从句；名词短语前用 Despite。
Whereas I like coffee but she prefers tea.Whereas I like coffee, she prefers tea.Whereas 已表达对比，不必再加 but。
Nevertheless but the report was excellent.Nevertheless, the report was excellent.Nevertheless 是连接副词，不能和 but 连用。
This is arguably the more complex issue.This is arguably the most complex issue.最高级用 most，不用 more。
To some extent, I am agree with you.To some extent, I agree with you.Agree 是动词，前面不加 am。
