常见错误

• ✗I was walking when I was hearing a crash.
  ✓I was walking when I heard a crash.

  hear 是感官动词，这类动作用一般过去时，不用过去进行时。

• ✗While I shopped, a car came.
  ✓While I was shopping, a car came.

  while 后面一般接过去进行时表示正在进行，不用一般过去时。

• ✗The accident was occurring at 3pm.
  ✓The accident occurred at 3pm.

  occur 表示一瞬间发生的事件，用一般过去时，不用过去进行时。

• ✗I was seeing the witness running.
  ✓I saw the witness running.

  see 是感官动词，突然看到某个画面要用一般过去时。

• ✗The accident was happened yesterday
  ✓The accident happened yesterday

  happen 是不及物动词，没有被动语态，不能说 was happened。

• ✗There was a fire who destroyed
  ✓There was a fire that destroyed

  先行词是物要用 that 或 which，who 只用来指人。
