Talking about wildlife and conservation
有的...有的... — some... others... 有的动物住在森林里，有的住在草原上。 — Some animals live in forests, others live on grasslands. 有的 introduces two contrasting subgroups within a category.
需要保护 — need to be protected 大熊猫是濒危动物，需要保护。 — Giant pandas are endangered animals and need protection. 是...动物 identifies the category; 需要 + verb = need to.
面临灭绝 — facing extinction 很多野生动物面临灭绝的危险。 — Many wild animals face the danger of extinction. 面临 = to face (a challenge/danger); 危险 = danger/risk.
保护环境 — protecting the environment 我们应该保护野生动物的栖息地。 — We should protect wild animals' habitats. 应该 = should; 栖息地 = habitat.

常见错误
有的动物和有的住在草原上有的动物住在森林里，有的住在草原上In 有的...有的... the second 有的 does not need to repeat the noun — just use 有的 + verb for the second clause
熊猫需要要保护熊猫需要保护No double modal — 需要 already means need to, so do not add 要 again; just 需要 + verb
很多野生动物面临的灭绝很多野生动物面临灭绝的危险面临 takes a noun phrase as object: 灭绝的危险 (the danger of extinction) — do not put 的 between 面临 and its object
