Using 附近 and 旁边
- 我家附近有一个公园。(Wǒ jiā fùjìn yǒu yī gè gōngyuán.) — There is a park near my home.
- 超市就在学校旁边。(Chāoshì jiù zài xuéxiào pángbiān.) — The supermarket is right next to the school.
- 附近有没有医院？(Fùjìn yǒu méiyǒu yīyuàn?) — Is there a hospital nearby?
Describing the area with adjectives
- 这个小区很安静。(Zhège xiǎoqū hěn ānjìng.) — This residential area is very quiet.
- 住在这里很方便，什么都有。(Zhù zài zhèlǐ hěn fāngbiàn, shénme dōu yǒu.) — Living here is very convenient, everything is nearby.
Asking about the area
- 这里的交通方便吗？(Zhèlǐ de jiāotōng fāngbiàn ma?) — Is transport convenient here?

- 你家附近有什么？Asking what is near someone's home
- 我家附近有超市和公园。Describing what is near your home
- 这个地方交通很方便。Saying transport is convenient in the area
- 住在这里感觉很安静。Describing the peaceful feel of living there
常见错误
我家有附近公园。我家附近有公园。附近 modifies location: 我家附近 means near my home
超市在学校的旁边旁。超市在学校旁边。Use 旁边 just once; no need to repeat
这里交通方便很。这里交通很方便。Adjectives follow 很 not precede it: 很方便
