Asking for quantities
- 我要两斤苹果。(Wǒ yào liǎng jīn píngguǒ.) — I want two catties (1 kg) of apples.
- 给我来一斤西红柿。(Gěi wǒ lái yī jīn xīhóngshì.) — Give me half a kilo of tomatoes.
- 这个多少钱一斤？(Zhège duōshao qián yī jīn?) — How much is this per half kilo?
Bargaining
- 太贵了！能便宜点吗？(Tài guì le! Néng piányí diǎn ma?) — Too expensive! Can it be a bit cheaper?
- 便宜一点，我多买一些。(Piányí yīdiǎn, wǒ duō mǎi yīxiē.) — A bit cheaper and I'll buy more.
Using 新鲜
- 这些蔬菜新鲜吗？(Zhèxiē shūcài xīnxiān ma?) — Are these vegetables fresh?
- 今天的水果很新鲜。(Jīntiān de shuǐguǒ hěn xīnxiān.) — Today's fruit is very fresh.
表达
- 这个多少钱一斤？Asking the price per catty
- 太贵了，能便宜一点吗？Bargaining for a lower price

常见错误
这个一斤多少钱？这个多少钱一斤？Standard order: item + 多少钱 + 一斤
我想要两斤的苹果。我要两斤苹果。No 的 between quantity and noun
可以便宜吗？能便宜一点吗？Use 能...吗 for possibility; add 一点 for a bit cheaper
