Asking for things
Use Tem...? (Do you have...?) or Onde é/fica...? (Where is...?):
- Tem leite fresco? → Do you have fresh milk?
- Onde ficam os legumes? → Where are the vegetables?

At the checkout
- Quer um saco? → Do you want a bag?
- Sim, por favor. / Não, obrigado/a. → Yes, please. / No, thank you.
- Pago com cartão. → I'll pay by card.
- Pago em dinheiro. → I'll pay in cash.
Tip: Portuguese markets (mercados) are great for fresh produce. Vendors often ask "Mais alguma coisa?" (Anything else?).
