Philosophical Debate in Polish

Philosophical debate (debata filozoficzna) is structured dialogue aimed at examining the truth of propositions through argument and counterargument.

The Hegelian dialectic structure:

Teza (thesis) — the initial proposition
Antyteza (antithesis) — the opposing position
Synteza (synthesis) — the resolution incorporating both

Language for philosophical debate:

Stawiam tezę, że... — I propose the thesis that...
Można by kontrargumentować, że... — One could counterargue that...
Pańska teza implikuje, że... — Your thesis implies that...
Proszę uściślić swoje stanowisko — Please clarify your position
Zgadzam się z tezą, ale nie z wnioskiem — I agree with the thesis but not with the conclusion

Types of refutation: 1. Denying a premise (zaprzeczenie przesłanki) 2. Showing a logical error (wskazanie błędu logicznego) 3. Providing a counterexample (podanie kontrprzykładu)
