Telling Travel Stories and Giving Opinions
To tell a travel story, combine the Perfekt with opinion adjectives and personal expressions.
Perfekt for storytelling:
- Wir sind nach Berlin gefahren. (We went to Berlin.)
- Ich habe viele Fotos gemacht. (I took many photos.)
- Wir haben das Museum besucht. (We visited the museum.)
Giving your opinion:
- Ich finde, dass Berlin wunderschön ist. (I think Berlin is wonderful.)
- Meiner Meinung nach war die Reise aufregend. (In my opinion, the trip was exciting.)
- Das Essen war fantastisch! (The food was fantastic!)
Watch the word order with dass: After dass, the conjugated verb goes to the end: Ich finde, dass die Stadt sehr schön ist. The verb ist moves to the final position.
Recommending:
- Ich kann Berlin empfehlen. (I can recommend Berlin.)
- Du musst unbedingt das Museum besuchen. (You absolutely must visit the museum.)
