Describing Your Neighbourhood in Polish

Useful prepositions for location:

blisko (+ genitive) = near: blisko parku (near the park)
daleko od (+ genitive) = far from: daleko od centrum (far from the centre)
obok (+ genitive) = next to: obok banku (next to the bank)
naprzeciwko (+ genitive) = opposite: naprzeciwko szkoły (opposite the school)
między (+ instrumental) = between

Describing the neighbourhood:

W mojej okolicy jest dużo sklepów. = In my area there are many shops.
Blisko mieszkam w ładnej okolicy. = I live in a nice area.
Jest wygodnie, bo wszystko jest blisko. = It is convenient because everything is nearby.
