L'arte della persuasione in inglese
Il condizionale misto
Il condizionale misto combina una condizione passata con un risultato presente. È ideale per argomentare e mostrare le conseguenze durature di decisioni passate.
- Struttura : *If + past perfect, would + infinito*
- Esempio : *If I had studied economics, I would be better at managing budgets today.*
- Esempio : *If governments had acted earlier, climate change would not be as severe now.*
I tre pilastri della retorica (Aristotele)
- Logos — L'argomento logico : cifre, fatti, dati. *"Studies show that 70% of..."*
- Ethos — La credibilità dell'oratore : *"As a researcher in this field, I can assure you..."*
- Pathos — L'appello emotivo : *"Imagine a world where children no longer have clean water..."*
Strutture persuasive chiave

- *It is undeniable that...* — È innegabile che...

Riconoscere e confutare i pregiudizi
A livello B2, si sa anche riconoscere i pregiudizi in un argomento : *"This argument seems to suffer from confirmation bias"* o *"The evidence presented may be misleading due to selection bias."*

There are a compelling evidence that...There is compelling evidence that...Evidence è un sostantivo non numerabile in inglese: sempre singolare, senza articolo indeterminativo.
He convinced me to change my opinion.He convinced me to change my mind.In inglese, cambiare idea si dice change my mind, non change my opinion.
This demonstrate that the approach works.This demonstrates that the approach works.Con this (singolare), il verbo prende la -s alla 3ª persona.
