अंग्रेज़ी में प्रशासनिक काम करते समय बाध्यता, आवश्यकता और अनुमति बताने वाले modal verbs को समझना ज़रूरी है।
बाध्यता और आवश्यकता
- You need to... → आपको ... करना होगा। (व्यावहारिक आवश्यकता, बहुत आम)
- You need to bring two forms of ID.
- You need to fill in this form first.
- You must... → आपको ... करना ही होगा। (औपचारिक, अधिक सख्त बाध्यता)
- You must register before the deadline.
बाध्यता न होना
- You don't have to... → आपको ... करने की ज़रूरत नहीं है।
- You don't have to pay — it's free if you're a student.
- You don't need to... → आपको ... करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है।
- You don't need to come in person — you can do it online.
निषेध
- You can't... → आप ... नहीं कर सकते।
- You can't submit documents by email.
- You mustn't... → आपको ... बिल्कुल नहीं करना चाहिए। (औपचारिक निषेध)
- You mustn't miss the deadline — there will be a fine.
अनुमति
- You can... → आप ... कर सकते हैं।
- You can apply online or in person.
- You are allowed to... → आपको ... करने की अनुमति है।
- You are allowed to bring a representative.
