  • 我饿了。— I'm hungry. (change of state)
  • 我渴了。— I'm thirsty.
  • 我很饿。— I'm very hungry. (degree)

Saying what you want to eat

Use 想 (xiǎng = want to) + verb:

  • 我想吃饺子。— I want to eat dumplings.
  • 我想喝茶。— I want to drink tea.

Asking what someone wants to eat

  • 你想吃什么?— What do you want to eat?

  • 很好吃这个
    这个很好吃

The adjective phrase follows the subject

  • 我吃不辣
    我不吃辣

Negation 不 goes before the verb, not between verb and object

  • 喝水我
    我喝水

Chinese word order is Subject-Verb-Object; subject comes first
