# At the Korean pharmacy
Use -(으)ㄹ 것을 추천하다 (recommend to do):
- 이 약을 복용할 것을 추천해요. → *I recommend taking this medicine.*
For side effects: -에 대한 부작용 (side effects of):
- 이 약에 대한 부작용이 있나요? → *Are there side effects for this medicine?*
-을/를 복용하다 means to take medicine:
- 하루에 세 번 복용하세요. → *Take it three times a day.*
Useful pharmacy phrases: 처방전 없이 살 수 있어요? (Can I buy it without a prescription?), 이 약이 졸음을 유발하나요? (Does this medicine cause drowsiness?), 식후에 드세요 (Take it after meals).

자주 하는 실수
약을 먹어요 하루 세 번하루에 세 번 약을 먹어요Frequency expressions (하루에 세 번 = three times a day) come before the main verb phrase.
부작용이 무엇이에요부작용이 있나요? / 부작용은 무엇이에요?To ask about existence of side effects use 있나요?. To ask which ones use 무엇이에요? with topic marker 은.
처방전이 없이 살 수 있어요처방전 없이 살 수 있어요없이 (without) is a postposition — attach directly to the noun without 이: 처방전 없이.
약을 복용합시다이 약을 복용하세요복용합시다 (let's take) suggests shared action. Use 복용하세요 (please take) for instructions to the patient.
효과는 있어요?효과가 있나요? / 효능이 어때요?Use 이/가 있나요? for asking about existence, or 어때요? for quality.
