Talking About Parties and Social Events
Korean has many expressions for social celebrations and describing fun events.
- 초대받았어요 — I was invited (passive past tense)
- 파티에 오다/가다 — to come/go to a party (에 marks destination)
- 생일 축하해요! — Happy birthday! (direct congratulation)
- 건배! — Cheers! (used when toasting)
- 같이 노래했어요 — We sang together (같이 = together)
- 정말 신났어요 — It was really exciting (신나다 past tense)
- 늦게까지 놀았어요 — We hung out until late
- 즐거운 시간을 보냈어요 — We had a great time (lit. spent enjoyable time)
- Use -았/었어요 throughout to narrate past party events

자주 하는 실수

우리는 같이 놀었어요 늦게우리는 늦게까지 같이 놀았어요Time expressions come before the verb; 늦게까지 means until late
