University and Studies — Talking About Higher Education

Saying what you study:

• मैं दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय में पढ़ता/पढ़ती हूँ। — I study at Delhi University.
• मैं इतिहास में डिग्री कर रहा/रही हूँ। — I am doing a degree in history.
• मेरा विषय विज्ञान है। — My subject is science.

Talking about the past — graduation:

• मैंने पिछले साल डिग्री पूरी की। — I completed my degree last year.
• वह इंजीनियरिंग में स्नातक है। — He/She is a graduate in engineering.

Expressing plans with चाहना + infinitive:

• मैं आगे पढ़ना चाहता/चाहती हूँ। — I want to study further.
• मुझे शोध करना है। — I have to / want to do research.

Talking about exams and results:

• परीक्षा अच्छी गई। — The exam went well.
• मुझे परीक्षा में अच्छे अंक मिले। — I got good marks in the exam.
• मैं परीक्षा में पास हो गया/गई। — I passed the exam.
• मैं परीक्षा में फ़ेल हो गया/गई। — I failed the exam.

Asking about someone else:

• आप क्या पढ़ते/पढ़ती हैं? — What do you study?
• आपकी डिग्री कब पूरी होगी? — When will your degree be complete?
