영어 기고문(op-ed) 쓰기
기고문은 학술 논문보다 개인적이고 직접적이지만, 근거 없이 감정만 내세우는 글은 아니에요. 한국어 칼럼처럼 짧은 공간에서 입장을 분명히 하고 독자를 설득해야 해요.
1. Hook으로 일화, 통계, 질문을 던져요. 2. 첫 두 문단에서 thesis를 분명히 밝혀요. 3. 구체적 근거가 있는 2~3개 논점을 전개해요. 4. counterpoint를 인정한 뒤 반박해요. 5. 강한 결론이나 행동 촉구로 마쳐요.
짧고 강한 문장과 복잡한 문장을 섞고, 능동태와 정확한 어휘를 사용하세요. 모두가 안다 같은 막연한 선언보다 검증 가능한 근거가 훨씬 설득력 있어요.
