Structuring a Speech in Chinese
A well-structured speech follows a clear arc. Chinese oratory tradition emphasises momentum and persuasive logic.
Classic speech structure
1. 开场白 — Opening hook (story, question, statistic) 2. 点明主旨 — State the core message clearly 3. 分论点展开 — Develop sub-arguments with evidence 4. 承上启下 — Transition between each section 5. 高潮 — Emotional or logical peak 6. 收尾 — Conclusion that echoes the opening
