I causativi: make, get, have, let
I verbi causativi esprimono l''idea che una persona o cosa causa un''emozione o un''azione in qualcun altro.
Make + complemento + infinito/aggettivo
Make esprime un''emozione involontaria o un effetto diretto:
- It makes me feel anxious. → Mi fa sentire ansioso.
- The news made her relieved. → La notizia l''ha sollevata.
- His words made me think twice. → Le sue parole mi hanno fatto riflettere.
Regola: Make + oggetto + infinito senza "to" (make me feel) o aggettivo (make me anxious).
Get + complemento + -ing / to + infinito
Get suggerisce un processo graduale o uno sforzo:
- It gets me thinking. → Mi fa riflettere.
- She got me to open up about my feelings. → Mi ha portato ad aprirmi sui miei sentimenti.
Have + complemento + infinito
Have è più neutro, spesso usato per richieste:
- I''ll have her call you back. → Le farò richiamare.
Let + complemento + infinito
Let esprime permesso o accettazione:
- Let yourself feel the emotion. → Lasciati sentire l''emozione.
- Don''t let fear overwhelm you. → Non lasciare che la paura ti sopraffa.
Attenzione: Dopo make, have e let, si usa l''infinito senza "to". Dopo get, si usa "to" + infinito o il gerundio (-ing).
