Tono e voce nella scrittura neerlandese vanno adattati al destinatario. Al livello C1 devi saper cambiare registro in modo deliberato ed efficace.

Tono formale: *Geachte heer/mevrouw, naar aanleiding van uw schrijven...* Frasi complete, lessico ricercato (*gaarne*, *verzoeken*, *dienen*) e forma in *u*.

Tono informale: *Hey! Leuk dat je dit leest.* Frasi brevi, parole colloquiali e forma in *jij*.

L'ironia scritta in neerlandese: la scrittura olandese ha una forte tradizione ironica: *Wat een verrassing dat de minister weer te laat is.* (Che sorpresa, il ministro è di nuovo in ritardo.) Il senso letterale contraddice quello inteso.

Tono empatico: *Wij begrijpen dat dit voor u een moeilijke situatie is.* (Comprendiamo che per lei è una situazione difficile.) Usato nel servizio clienti, in sanità e nelle risorse umane.

Tono autorevole: frasi brevi e assertive: *Dit is onacceptabel. Wij eisen maatregelen.* (Questo è inaccettabile. Esigiamo provvedimenti.)

Cambiare tono: lo stesso messaggio può essere riscritto in registri diversi. Allenati a convertire il formale in informale e viceversa per acquisire flessibilità.
