Adjective Agreement with Gender
In Polish, adjectives must agree with the noun they describe in gender and number.
Masculine adjectives (describing m. nouns):
- wysoki mężczyzna → a tall man
- miły brat → a kind brother
Feminine adjectives (add -a):
- wysoka kobieta → a tall woman
- miła siostra → a kind sister
Neuter adjectives (add -e):
- wysokie dziecko → a tall child
Rule: masculine ends in consonant, feminine adds -a, neuter adds -e
Using "jest" (is) with adjectives
- On jest wysoki → He is tall
- Ona jest miła → She is kind
- Dziecko jest małe → The child is small
