A well-structured Korean speech uses three clear phases with explicit transitional markers.
Opening: Capture attention with a bold statement or rhetorical question: 여러분, 변화는 어디서 시작될까요? (Everyone, where does change begin?) Then state your purpose: 오늘 저는 ~에 대해 말씀드리겠습니다.
Transitions: The trio 우선 (first of all) → 다음으로 (next) → 마지막으로 (finally) signals clear progression. For contrast: 그러나 / 반면에. For elaboration: 더 나아가 (furthermore).
Closing: Summarize with 지금까지 살펴본 것처럼 (as we have seen so far), then deliver your call to action or final message. End with 경청해 주셔서 감사합니다 (thank you for listening).
Rhetorical questions engage the audience: 우리가 정말 변화를 원한다면, 지금 당장 무엇을 해야 할까요? The question invites reflection without requiring an answer.

첫째로, 둘째로, 셋째로 (used in a spoken speech)우선, 다음으로, 마지막으로첫째로/둘째로/셋째로 sound formal but stiff in speech; 우선/다음으로/마지막으로 flow more naturally in oral delivery
오늘은 세 개 이야기를 할게요오늘 저는 세 가지 핵심 사항에 대해 말씀드리겠습니다할게요 is too casual for a formal speech; 말씀드리겠습니다 uses the formal humble register appropriate for addressing an audience
(stacking connectors)마지막으로, 결론적으로 하나만 써야 합니다Stacking 마지막으로 and 결론적으로 is redundant; choose one closing marker per speech section
경청해서 감사해요경청해 주셔서 감사합니다경청해서 감사해요 is informal; -아/어 주셔서 감사합니다 is the proper formal gratitude expression for speeches
어때요 is too conversational; rhetorical questions in speeches require formal endings like -(으)ㄹ까요?
