शब्दावली

Some of the most common Japanese verbs have irregular た-forms that you need to memorize.

Note: 行く follows the く→いた pattern but doubles the っ: 行った, not 行いた.

To say something was fun, use the い-adjective 楽しい in its past form:

Example: 週末に海に行った。とても楽しかった！ (Shuumatsu ni umi ni itta. Totemo tanoshikatta!) — I went to the beach on the weekend. It was very fun!

来る is irregular: the ta-form is 来た (kita), not 来るた
~~週末に遊びた。~~
週末に遊んだ。
遊ぶ ends in ぶ, so the ta-form is 遊んだ, not 遊びた
~~写真を取った。~~
写真を撮った。
Use the kanji 撮る for taking photos, not 取る (to take/grab)
~~とても楽しいだった。~~
とても楽しかった。
い-adjectives form past tense with -かった, not い + だった
~~海で行った。~~
海に行った。
Use the particle に for destination with 行く, not で
