अंग्रेज़ी में तुलनात्मक रूप

अंग्रेज़ी में दो चीज़ों की तुलना करने के लिए comparative का प्रयोग होता है।

छोटे विशेषण (1 syllable) → + er + than

• big → bigger than → से बड़ा
• fast → faster than → से तेज़
• old → older than → से पुराना / बड़ा

This film is funnier than the first one. → यह फ़िल्म पहली वाली से ज़्यादा मज़ेदार है।

लंबे विशेषण (2+ syllables) → more + adjective + than

• interesting → more interesting than → से अधिक दिलचस्प
• exciting → more exciting than → से अधिक रोमांचक
• beautiful → more beautiful than → से अधिक सुंदर

The documentary is more interesting than the comedy. → डॉक्यूमेंट्री कॉमेडी से अधिक दिलचस्प है।

अनियमित तुलनात्मक रूप

• good → better than → से बेहतर
• bad → worse than → से बदतर
• far → further / farther than → से अधिक दूर

The sequel is better than the original. → सीक्वल मूल फ़िल्म से बेहतर है।

This film is as good as the book. → यह फ़िल्म किताब जितनी अच्छी है।
