At the Bank: Making Requests
Use 能不能… (néng bu néng) to make polite requests:
- 能不能帮我查一下余额？(néng bu néng bāng wǒ chá yīxià yú'é) — Could you check my balance?
- 我想开一个储蓄账户。(wǒ xiǎng kāi yīgè chǔxù zhànghù) — I'd like to open a savings account.
把-construction for banking actions:
- 请把这张表格填好。(qǐng bǎ zhè zhāng biǎogé tián hǎo) — Please fill in this form completely.
- 我把钱转到你的账户了。(wǒ bǎ qián zhuǎn dào nǐ de zhànghù le) — I transferred the money to your account.
Key banking sentence patterns:
- 我需要办理… (wǒ xūyào bànlǐ…) — I need to handle / process…
- 请问手续费是多少？(qǐngwèn shǒuxù fèi shì duōshao) — What is the handling fee?

आम गलतियाँ
我开户了一个账户。我开了一个账户。开户 already means to open an account — no need to add 账户 again. 开了一个账户 is the natural form.
我的钱被我取了。我取了钱。被 is for passives where someone else acts on you. When you withdraw your own money, use a simple active sentence.
请问汇率是什么？请问汇率是多少？For numbers and amounts, use 多少 (how much), not 什么 (what).
我想把钱转送给你。我想把钱转给你。转 already implies the transfer — 转送 is redundant. Use 转给 directly.
这里的利息非常很高。这里的利息非常高。非常 and 很 are both degree adverbs — do not use them together. Choose one: 非常高 or 很高.
