La corrección crítica en inglés C1
Corregir a nivel avanzado no se limita a detectar errores ortográficos. Se trata de cuestionar la claridad, la cohesión y el impacto del texto.
Los errores C1 más frecuentes
1. Falsos amigos avanzados
- *actually* ≠ actualmente → significa "en realidad / de hecho"
- *eventually* ≠ eventualmente → significa "finalmente / a la larga"
- *consistent* ≠ consistente → significa "coherente / regular"
- *pretend* ≠ pretender → significa "fingir"
2. Estructuras sintácticas defectuosas
- Dangling modifier: *"Having reviewed the data, the report was submitted."* → ¿Quién revisó los datos?
- Correcto: *"Having reviewed the data, we submitted the report."*
- Referencia ambigua: *"The manager told the analyst that his report was late."* → ¿De quién es el informe?
3. Redundancias sutiles
- *"past history"* → history ya implica el pasado
- *"completely finished"* → finished ya es total
- *"end result"* → result ya implica un final
La cohesión: conectar las ideas
Usa conectores lógicos variados para evitar repetir "and" o "but":
- Causa: *therefore, hence, consequently, as a result*
- Concesión: *nevertheless, albeit, while, notwithstanding*
- Adición: *furthermore, in addition, besides*
- Contraste: *conversely, on the contrary, whereas*
La regla de oro de la corrección
Lee primero para el sentido global, luego para la sintaxis, luego para el estilo — nunca todo a la vez.
