It is + adjetivo para el tiempo meteorológico
En español dices "Hace calor", "Hace frío". En inglés, se usa It is (o la contracción It's) seguido de un adjetivo:
💬 Ejemplo: "It's sunny today." → "Hace sol hoy."
💬 Ejemplo: "It's very cold outside." → "Hace mucho frío fuera."
💬 Ejemplo: "It's warm and cloudy." → "Está templado y nublado."
¡Atención, no traduzcas literalmente el español "hace"! No es "It makes" ni "It does". Siempre es It's:
💬 Ejemplo: "It's hot." → "Hace calor." (no "It makes hot")
Hacer la pregunta
Para preguntar qué tiempo hace, tienes dos formas muy útiles:
💬 Ejemplo: "What's the weather like?" → "¿Qué tiempo hace?"
💬 Ejemplo: "What's the weather like today?" → "¿Qué tiempo hace hoy?"
También puedes ser más concreto:
💬 Ejemplo: "Is it cold outside?" → "¿Hace frío fuera?"
💬 Ejemplo: "Is it going to rain?" → "¿Va a llover?"
It is + verbo en -ing para describir el tiempo actual
Para decir lo que está pasando en este momento, también puedes usar It's + verbo en -ing:
💬 Ejemplo: "It's raining." → "Está lloviendo."
💬 Ejemplo: "It's snowing!" → "¡Está nevando!"

Errores frecuentes
It makes cold.It is cold.¡No traduzcas "hace" por "it makes"! Siempre es "it is".
What time does it make?What's the weather like?"¿Qué tiempo hace?" se dice "What's the weather like?", no hay traducción literal.
Today is sun.Today is sunny."Sun" es el sustantivo (el sol), "sunny" es el adjetivo (soleado).
It's rain.It's raining / It's rainy.Hace falta el adjetivo (rainy) o el verbo en -ing (raining).
I don't like the cold weather.I don't like cold weather.En general, no se usa el artículo "the" delante de "cold weather" cuando hablas en general.
It does hot.It is hot.Nunca se dice "it does" para el tiempo, siempre es "it is".
